Female characters in Hawks

The main female lead in Rio Bravo is a little weird, sometimes I thought she was bi-polar because she kept changing in mood real fast. Tries to get the sheriff by asking a lot of indirect questions. Usually women in this type of movies tend to get the guy to fall in love with them by asking questions, or doing retarded stuff.

The Westerns

I have seen Rango and Wild Wild West.
Some characteristics of Westerns are guns, the cowboys (obviously), the pure girl and the bad girl, the evil mayor, the bad government, and mexicans.

Rashomon vs. Citizen Kane

Comparison and Contrast.
To start with Rashomon is an International film from Japan, and Citizen Kane is an all American made. One thing is the way they tell the story. In Citizen Kane they told the story from different characters in which they described what it was like how to be or share a time they spent with Kane. In the end though it had the same climax he died. In Rashomon it's told from 4 different perspective, but each character manipulated their story to their advantage, in the end you don't know who is lying or not. More important, you don't know what really happened.

The Rashomon effect

What this movies have in common is that their both horror movies. Also they tell a story from different perspectives from the characters, and end up with the same ending. They are different because one is in English, and the other is in Japanese.

Favorite Directors James Cameron

I love James Cameron, except for Avatar I think that was one of his worst movies even though it was critically acclaimed. I love the scifi-genre its what makes imagination explode like crazy. The films I loved the most from James Cameron is Terminator 2, and ALIENS. He really focuses a lot in the music or sound effect of the movies, I loved all the background music in Aliens it just went well with what was going on in the scene. He also loves to pull the audience into the world of the movie, the first time I watched Aliens I actually thought they were real, and it really makes you feel something about the character. He should make more movies at least scifi movies only. Hope they make an Alien Franchise reboot.

Magazine film reviews.

Luckily one of my GameInformer magazines had an film review which is extremely rare from GameInformer, it must have been because they were working on Avatar the game. Anyways I think this was one of the worst reviews Avatar has ever gotten, a 4/10. They were bashing on the movie because the author was saying how games and movies are crossing each other. Let me explain a movie looking like a video game due to its visual effects and nothing is real no more. And A video game using real actors to make voice overs and movement. He argued that soon Games were going to be playing like movies and extract all the gameplay. Movies are going to look only like visual effects and fake actors, that computers would replace actors indefinitely. I kind of agree with this guy, I really see technology taking over human based movies with real sets and actors. In 2020 everything will be over.

Amelie

This was the best International movie so far I have seen in film studies class. The story was interesting it pulled me into the movie, by that I mean because they did a great job with the character, it just wanted you to figure out why the character is and acts certain ways through out the film. I loved how they used camera techniques, seemed pretty weird but effective on what was going on the scene. Enjoyed the movie not the best but it was good indeed.
